There are many LEGO-compatible ships on the market, but it is a rare sight to see one as historially accurate and sizeable as this! I have a been a great fan of boeing_787_8_dreamliner's work on Instagram and other sharing platforms for some time, as despite sounding like they should be designing planes, they infact are incredibly skilled at historic ship-design. I was therefore delighted to see their own announcement earlier today that this ship was available to purchase through Godbricks (affiliate link)

The description on Godbricks website reads:
HMS Columbia is a british 36 gun frigate from the early 19th century. The ship is armed with 24x18lb Longguns in the mainbattery. In addition there are 8x9lb longguns and 8x12 lb on the fore castle and the quaterdeck. There are also two guns at the bow and two at the stern. The model is equipped with further details such as a ship's bell, several gratings, a companionway, a skylight, an toilett, 2 anchor capstans, two anchors, a jack-o'-lantern, a steering wheel and a pretty galleon figure. The ship also has a very detailed rigging. In addition, the ship impresses with a particularly striking stern gallery. The model consists of 4763 individual parts.

Her stern galley is particularly impressive, with angled windows giving an amazing rear to the dashing frigate. The whole shape of this ship is spot-on, from the rigging to the tumblehome and the image showing the deck from above shows the level of extraordinary detail that is to be found throughout the ship! The brick-built cannons on the upper-works are also in excellent proportion to the rest of the ship.

Animators and MOCers alike will surely be keen to get their hands on this ship, and it's not hard to imagine a few remakes of Master and Commander or Hornblower may soon be able to make their way onto a YouTube channel or two soon, represented in realism that hasn't been possible until now!
If you're impressed by this ship, you can purchase it from Godbricks now, by following the affiliate link. It is sure to be popular, with the website currently at the time of writing recording 3 sales in the past 18 hours.
Let me know what you think of this ship, and whether you are temped by it!
